Feline Friend for a Friend Program
 

Qualified cat and kitten adoptors may adopt a second (or additional) cat(s) for a 50% reduction in the normal adoption fee.  This program was previously offered for same day adoptions, but is temporarily being extended to anyone who has previously adopted a cat or kitten from the Dearborn Animal Shelter within 3 months prior to the adoption of the additional cat(s).

This program is offered to increase adoptions of cats when the shelter is experiencing high populations of cats.  It also is intended to encourage the families to enjoy the health and emotional benefits of pet companions.

All adoption applications are carefully screened to ensure a loving forever home.  All adopted cats are sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated (CVR-C and rabies), tested for feline leukemia, and have had a fecal test and worming.    *Note:  Normal adoption fees are $80 for adult cats and $90 for kittens.

* The program is offered for a limited time and may be discontinued at any time.  The current program became effective 1/20/08.
