Caring Hearts
Your Opportunity to Help Homeless Animals at the Dearborn Animal Shelter

Caring Heart Opportunities     Caring Heart Recognition     Happy Tails

What is the Caring Heart Club?

It is a multi-year giving society that allows supporters to create a unique and personal partnership with the Friends and the animals cared for at the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

What is multi-year pledging?

The amount you pledge in 2006 is the same amount you agree to pledge over the next 2 years (2007 and 2008).

Why the need for Caring Hearts?

What will the proceeds go toward?

Caring Heart dollars help fund day-to-day shelter needs, including:

  • food and formula for nearly 3,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens

  • regular medical treatments (such as spaying and neutering) and vaccinations

·         helping to offset the cost of emergency medical situations that frequently arise.

v      For example, in January 2006 an animal control officer picked up a three-year-old Shepherd mix who had a metal cable embedded in her neck, causing a two-inch-deep lesion. The dog, nicknamed “Fancy,” endured four hours of surgery, and came through with a positive prognosis. Following recovery, she was available for adoption through the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Your Caring Heart dollars help make it possible for animals like Fancy to have a new leash on life!
