Think of iGive.com as an online shopping mall similar to central shopping websites such as Amazon.com, Shopzilla.com, Yahoo! Shopping, etc.  iGive has over 1,000 brand-name stores like Barnes & Noble, Staples, Lands’ End, and PETsMART (see more at right) with super savings and deals every day…and not only can you shop all these stores with a single search, but they make "free donations" to the Friends for the animals.  

For example, if you seach for Nike running shoes, you'll get a list of all the participating stores with Nike running shoes including the prices -- you pick which one you like, make your purchase, and the Friends get a commission from each purchase.   You'll also note that it informs you what percent of your purchase (up to 26%!) will benefit the animals with no additional charge to you.

How you can participate - it is easy!!:

First, register on iGive.com by using our join link, www.igive.com/FFDAS.

Registration and membership are totally free, as is shopping on the site. Well, you'll have to pay for your purchases of course, but there is no surcharge from iGive.

Then you can shop in one of two ways:

1)  Go to www.iGive.com  and start shopping!  You'll see the message at the top of the page that you are "Supporting Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter.  You'll also note that this page offers many specials and sales.

2)  Download the iGive.com window (you need do this only once) - you'll see the link for this under "Cool Stuff" toward the bottom of the page.  Then go directly to whatever merchants sites you wish.  If they participate in the iGive program, you'll see an iGive window appear momentarily on your screen.  This will tell you that any purchases you make will generate a commission to benefit the animals.
