Friends Board of Directors Members and Their Pets |
|
Meet the Friends Board Members and their pets:
|
|
Stevie and her husband, Frank, helped organize the Friends in 1993 when they found three stray dogs on the Dearborn Hills Golf Course. They worked with the City to get the Friends organization sanctioned and helped transform the Shelter from the “pound” that it was then. They take pride in the success of the Friends and the animals we have been able to save. Both Stevie and Frank have MBAs from U of D and had over 30 years each with Ford before retiring. They have since started their own business, eBusiness Results, doing internet and intranet consulting. They reside in Dearborn and have cats adopted from the Shelter and rescued from their (and other) neighborhood. One of the dogs they rescued from the golf course in 1993, Lady (shown here), led a happy and truly spoiled life with their next-door neighbors, Vi and Gordon Hutchinson. Nikki was the first cat that the Cotes adopted from the Shelter. He came into the Shelter hairless, bloody, and quite ill, but has turned into a spectacularly beautiful and loving friend. His photo represents all the "Cote Kitties". |

Sue
Ringey
|
Sue began to volunteer at
the Dearborn Animal shelter in March 2004 after she lost my playful Cocker
Spaniel Snoopy. Her housemate has a medical problem that prevents
him from walking & is quite frail, so she didn’t want to get another
dog. She worked weekends walking dogs and joined the SIT team to
make the dogs more adoptable by teaching them basic sit & down
commands. She then brought home a little Beagle mix as a foster (Sinatra)
and adopted him in early May. She has lived in Dearborn
Heights since July 1992. She works at BCBSM in Management
Accounting. Sue has a MSA from Central Michigan University and BSA
from Wayne State University. She is originally from Middlebury,
Vermont. Her family relocated to Detroit ( where she attended High
School) when she was a child. |
