"Our Friends’ New Home"

The true measure of any society can be how well its people treats its animals.”

Please note that the new shelter is still being designed and that the following are conceptual ideas.

The adoption wings, like the Cattery depicted here, will allow a more serene atmosphere for both people and animals.  Natural light, piped-in music, plenty of socialization and the attention of all of our visitors, staff and volunteers will make the adoption areas places worth visiting for everyone. The cattery will provide a wonderful opportunity for seniors and others who might not otherwise be able to care for a pet in their own home, but can cherish and spend time with a companion that is beneficial for all.
The Dog Daycare Center is one of several owned-pet service areas designed to encourage adoptive families and other pet guardians in the community to visit the AEC facility often.  Dog Daycare is a critical need for the shelter to address an overwhelming need for owners to provide for their pets while they are at work.  The dog daycare concept has been tremendously successful in helping diminish owner-surrenders of dogs back to the shelter whose owners may otherwise “not  have enough time to spend with them”.

A critical part of the facility, the Medical Center will enable the AEC to provide animals on-site treatment for our animal residents, including spay and neuters.
