Casey's Trail

About Casey

...Grieve not,

nor speak of me with tears,

but laugh and talk of me

as if I were beside you ...

I loved you so --

'twas Heave here with you.

      --- Isla Paschal Richardson

Casey was a black Labrador who came in May as a Mother's Day gift to Linda Padgett from her sons, Bill and Tim.  Casey was true to her friendly, outgoing Lab nature nature making her not only a great member of the family but a welcome friend throughout the neighborhood.

Casey's role soon expanded as she listened and supported Linda through many of life's trials including a divorce, kidney failure, dialysis, and eventually kidney transplant surgery.  No questions asked, no complaints, only a strong steady reliable friend waiting for Linda to come back home.

Casey's role soon expanded as she listened and supported Linda through many of life's trials including a divorce, kidney failure, dialysis, and eventually kidney transplant surgery.  No questions asked, no complaints, only a strong steady reliable friend waiting for Linda to come back home.

Over the passage of time, Casey's muzzle tuned gray and she developed diabetes which eventually led to blindness.  With a heavy heart, yet knowing there is a happier place, Linda Let Casey run ahead to wait for her there.  Today, she dedicates Casey's Trail knowing if Casey were her, she would by the first with all four paws down the trail!!
