Celebrate Spring with the Friends

Spring seems to have finally come to Michigan and isn't it lovely?  We hope you are enjoying the warmer weather and plan to come celebrate at Mutt Strut this Saturday, May 16.  Not only do the proceeds go to support the animals at the shelter, but it is a great day of  fun for the entire family

We want to provide the best adoption opportunities for our animals so we're doing some major spring sprucing-up at the shelter.  It is long overdue and in all honesty, we did not plan for it when we did our annual budgeting.  But the continuing economy made us realize that that we need to do some new and exciting things.  We hope the result will provide a more pleasant experience for you and all our visitors, bring new potential adopters to the shelter,  and allow us to continue getting 100% of our adoptable animals adopted.

Since this is a "grass roots" effort, we could really use your help.  You can donate financially, donate needed items, and/or join the team for the great effort.  We'll recognize your generosity on the Spring Sprucing web page.

For more information on what's happening at the shelter, when the fun Open House will be, and to thank our donors.

One item on our Sprucing agenda is our Cat Community Center (CCC).  We're getting ready to open  the Best Little Cat House in Town which will include a KittyKam -- a web cam in our CCC so that you and potential adopters can watch the cats 24 hours a day (yes, it even comes with infrared), 7 days a week.  Stay tuned for more information from our home page (videos coming next week) and  in our next e-News.

Just when we got to spring, summer is right around the corner and we'd love to have you join us at our annual Critter Invitational Golf Outing,  on Monday, June 8, at the gorgeous Dearborn Country Club.  Golf is a scramble format so you need not be an expert and if you don't have a foursome, we'll be happy to do the eHarmony thing and match you into a great group.  Not a golfer?  Come for the open bar and sumptuous dinner.    Register online or call the shelter at (313) 943-2697.
